cow you ricer...

i voted for 16, though i wouldnt mind 17s...if you have stock brakes and not a bbk or type s brakes then 17s can look too big imo, i love 16 cuz my type s/r brakes totally fill them...

Sixteen's fill up the wheel well nicely with a nice drop. With seventeen's you are kind of limited on the amount of drop you can go. Fifteen's only look good when you are slammed. That's my opinion though.

16 perfect combination of size and weight.

I have 18's but thats because I bought the car with them and just spent a crap load on new tires. I wanted to get the Rota J-mags on my EP with some Kumho tires but it's out of my price range for now.

lol...j/k. i ride 17" wheels and voted for 17", but i don't do much more than driving normal, maybe some "spirited" driving once in a while. i like the look better, but i will say 16" will perform awesome and will save a little bit on the wallet as well.

TexasTechEP3

depends on the wheel style.

17s if the wheel has some sort of lip
16s if the spokes go all the way out.

i got 17's and voted for 17's, feels fine to me bc p1's. Thats just me tho, 16 seemed too small, but you know what everyone says function>form.

If you put small rims on the ep you might not have room for a big brake kit. I think some 16s look ok, but generally they look too small to me. I think 17s are the way to go for a daily driver. 17s look great. If you want to really showoff go for 18" rims. 18s look awesome as long as you choose the right rim. Remember BrettNyt had those 18s on his ep3? They looked good. In the UK 17" rims are the standard on the ep3 so a lot more people get 18s there. If you are seriously racing your car on a track or drag strip, then who cares about looks, go for what works. So in summary, I would go 16s for drag racing, 17s for a daily driver and 18" for a weekend showoff rim. I would never go to 19 or 20", it looks horrible.

i ruv 16s. the look nice, reasonable weight, wide selection of tires, and enough space for a bbk (if i so choose).

I have 15's on mine because how light of a wheel you can get. I have the Falken Hanabi's in gold 11 lbs each, that is 5 lbs lighter than factory wheels. If you go larger, it tends to get heavier too.

I have 17 and love em

17s ftmfw
room for brakes
like 2 pounds more than 16's
fills in the gap better with a performance oriented drop compared to getting 16's and dropping it two or more inches and throwing your handling out the window.
Looks better, more choices.
This is only true with rims with an average number of spokes.
anything with more than 8-10 spokes in a 17 starts to look dumb unless its mesh like the g35 wheels or something.

I say go with a 16. Paired up with a good tire fills the well nicely and is a little lighter than 17's and usually a little cheaper, if money is a factor.

humpmasterflex

I'd go with 10's.... gotta keep em clean THOUGH!

depends on what you like in terms of jdm look or otherwise. i like big so yeah getting 19's on my booger. i like big b/c it provides better road handling and gives the burly look.

19s are going to greatly hurt your handling and performance...but if you like it, go for it...

when choosing a wheel for performance you have to consider the following things and choose a balance that best suits your setup for handling
-wheel weight
-sidewall size (need some, too much=too much squirm, too little and your tire will be too stiff)
-brake size (need a bigger wheel for bigger brakes)

16 or 17 are probably going to be the best performance on an ep

I say 16" all around and 17" if you live in a area where there's no pot holes anywhere.

** The rim size also depend on your suspension(Dropped or Stock).

the best wheel size is 16" IMO. Especially with some meaty tires on them :thumb:

had 16s rotas but I have 18 Volks now, they actually dont look like 18s, but I'll soon be selling them and getting some 17" Advan RCIII or RS probably, I just like 17s. I'm surprised how smooth my 18s ride considered to my friends car with his 18s.

Ive been rockin 18s on my ep3 since i got it. I think 17s or 18s look the best. smaller looks unproportional for the car, and bigger... well thats just gay for any compact; you want 20s, buy a truck and tug some lug nuts.

3dkahuna
06-24-2008, 07:49 AM
I prefer 17" and consider 16" for slightly cheaper, lightly solution.
