Doing my job to lend a hand rebuilding the DIY section. Here is a nice little write up abput which wires to tap.

This is mainly for GReddy Turbo Timer but apparently works for Apexi as well. Picture speaks for itself.

VSS wire is on "A" connector #18, check kpro's help menu under "reference -> ecu connectors".

e-brake release kill is the brown wire.

GReddy's full auto-timer instruction is here: http://www.greddy.com/img/PHP/products/pdf/685.pdf

Credit goes out to esmith13 for the pic and dsecription.

where is the location of that plug?

It's under the plastic on the steering column. If you look in the picture you can see where the ignition is (on the right)

Put the inline fuse on the white wire.

what exactly is the inline fuse? and also: how do you get to that part, take the top and bottom of the steering wheel plastic cover part off?

There are 3 phillips screws that hold the column shroud on. Simply remove them from the underside and gently pry the shroud apart.

The fuse protects the turbo timer and the car from damage in case of a short.

Carefull pulling off the plastic. The stupid clips on the side like to snap into a billion pieces when you pull the top cover off. As of now I've been through 3 of them :mfrown: (though they only cost like $4)

so i can assume that the turbo timer comes with it?

would it be the same for a hks? hks has different colored wires?

All quality accesories come with fuses/fuseholders attatched.

On our civics on the larger harness:

White = 12 volts constant
Black/White = starter
Black/yellow = ignition
Black/red = accesory
White/red = second accesory

On the smaller green plug in the pic

Green/orange (pin 4) = parking brake

Every ECU or larger module has many plugs. They can either be labeled numerically (speeled that wrong as hell) or by letters.

ie: plug a, plug b, plug c, etc.

So, the VSS wire he noted is in plug "a" pin, pin 18.

Honda is one of the kinder companies that has the pin numbers on the plugs.

If you unplug a plug on our ecu's, you'll see usually 3 rows. On the face of the plug you will see a number on each end of each row. If it's a 36 pin plug, the first row will be 1-12, second row is 13-24, third row 25-36.

so all you need to do it solder the 3 wires up on the plug and ground the other?

do you need the ebrake kill release (what does that do)?

and the other purple wire?

for just basic time minute intervals all i need is the basic wiring and no purple or brown? please help i wanna install now!!

thanks for recovering the picture!!!!

You only need the 4 wires shown in my pic/diagram to get basic turbo timer functionality.

If you hook up the e-brake wire as well, then releasing the e-brake when the timer is still counting down shuts the car immediately (helps prevent theft, not that you can steer without the key tho!).

If you hook up the VSS wire you get all the vehicle speed related functions to work (like a digital rpm guage) but I left mine set to show realtime voltage meter when it wasn't counting down time so I only needed the 4 wires in the pic to be hooked up.
