View Full Version : k20a2 head and K24a1 question?

i have a k20a2 head that was taken off a blown block.. one of the rods broke and made the piston hit the head theres a couple of scuff marks and a bent valve took it to the machine shop so they can do a pressure test on the head.. but im curious cuz i also bought a k24a1 long block to use the block and when i took off the head i had too take off the cams and rocker arms.. know my question is can i switch my camholders , cams, and rocker arms from the k20a2 head to the k24a1 head with valves? both heads look the same bare. any input will be helpfull thanks...

Not without Kpro. And it would have to be the locked style Vtec, Look for the thread on useing A2 cams and rockers in the A3 head.

You would be far better off having the A2 head reworked.

Sounds like you are building a poorman's vtec k24. Very interested in the outcome.

Should be good for boost as well with the lower compression a1

yeah, I was wondering what the compression of a k24a1 block with an A2 head is. Would it be the same as the k24a1, assuming you don't change the internals? My primary concern was the need to run premium fuel for this set up.

if that is your primary concern stick with the a3 and dont mod.....:mrolleyes:

would the power gain be efficent in the A3 head, and would there be any jump in hp/tq#'s?

i was going to change pistons and rods to higher comp.
