Ed's comments translate into my shared fears. I'd be weary of $99 HID's to say the least. Please tell me that they don't use your stock wiring harness for power....

This really shouldn't be an issue with quality built HID plug 'n play kits. Although for $99, you get what you pay for. :mwink:

My McCulloch kit was $300 and plugged right in to the stock harness, on both my Integra and the Civic. No problems yet, been using these for 2+ years.

Post up pics of this jallopy.

possibly no harness
bad build quality
the fact that a shotty built high voltage ballast is dangerous all in itself (boom)

I'd say the con's outway the pro's....then again I guess you can't be sure about 75% of the aftermarket hid kits out there.

People in the oncoming traffic lanes are thinking to themselves, "That's the bastard that paid $99 at Harbor Freight for his HID's!" as their retinas burn to a crisp.

Firemen: "wow how much was that kit that burnt your car to the ground?"
Driver: "$99"

the only reason why I say these things is because of the circular saw that I got from harbor freight LITERALLY exploded in my hands...sparks, smoke, fire, melted plastic...all of that with a spinning saw blade.

I've had a pretty bad taste in my mouth with harbor freight since the last time I almost lost my life with a simple power tool

Ed --picks up circular saw box-- "Wow, $20? Awesome..I mean how bad can it be?"
Ed --later that day-- "Wow, pretty bad I guess"

I hear you. Last plug in item I picked up was a router that lasted all of 6 minutes. I'm a Harbor Freight fan boi for anything that doesn't require electricity.

Sorry to laugh about the whole incident, but that's pretty funny and the irony behind it is even better. This is why I stick with Snap-On; only the best!
