Be careful. I know it's "Fully built" But that doesn't mean it will last a long time. You should always be careful with your buying a race motor. Race motors have a tendence to last a few races, not a road trip across county, or SoCal grid-lock.

just toss a turbo kit on any k24 without the tradtional vtec head, ie. k24a1, k24a4, etc. and call it a day.

You don't need a built motor to hit 11s. Just throw in some sleeves pistons and rods and leave the head alone. Full Race turbo kit...done. Don't know if you can keep it under 10k though. Parts alone is gonna be close to 8k.

$2500 Built Block (http://www.k20a.org/forum/showthread.php?t=40210)

This could be a good start for your build!

I should have a k24a4 block, k20a2 head, k20z3 valvetrain, and k24a2 rods and pistons assembled for about a grand. it can be done on the cheap if you keep your eyes open.

me?

k24a4 long block, $475 and sell the head, valvecover, etc to recoup some money
k20a2 head casting, $125
k20z3 valvetrain (complete head that is warped), $200
k24a2 pull out rods and pistons, $200
k20a2 pil pan (sitting in my shop)

the bearings and ARP studs should be paid for by what I sell off the A4. so, $1000 +/- $100, and I will have my long block done. I don't have the first piece in my shop, but they are all lined up, and I'm being patient.:mwink:

i dont know where you people are getting your parts but you can get a CRAZY ass motor built for <10,000. 10,00 on a motor is ALOT. If you source all your parts out, you can come out WAY cheaper. and you dont have to fully built it, just get a k24a2,or a1, and just turbo it and you'll get pretty close. Not 11's but for sure 12's.

Not gonna happen....little too optimistic. 10s would really be pushing it. You are forgetting brakes, suspension, axles, tires, rims...some things become a major safety issue after you add all that power. Secondly running in the 10s and being reliable...you have to be kidding. You can't have a "race car" and a street car at that performance level without working on it 2 weekends a month. You will have problems regardless so get ready for it.
