anyone dyno their car just on i/h/e..if so whats your setup? because i have aem cai/and hks hi-power and i was wondering what type of race headers should i get i heard megan gets better numbers than dc i wanted to see what you guys got before i made any decisions..also, im planning on boosting my a3 later on

yea the megan is a decent piece and for a good price. plus if ur gonna boost it later (guessing turbo?) no sense in buying a $$$ header if its gonna get replaced. if u s/c ur car then gettin a $$$$ header might be a good idea to get the most of out of ur setup

pretty sure that megan only makes a race header for the type-s. In order to run it you would need a type-s midpipe

correct but its pretty easy to mod the midpipe. btw, i just installed a buddy club race header a lil while ago and the gains were AWESOME! im gettin a dyno soon and it will compare the jrrh i used to have to my new buddy club rh

It has to be stock ecu...if it wasn't then he would be in the mid 160's

I might be at the dyno within a couple of weeks with:

-Injen MR Short Ram
-DCRH
-Apexi Catback

Did you guys dyno with your engine check light on or off?

If I use an o2 sensor adapter, my car's air is stablized and power is evenly distributed throughout the rpm meaning no low or high end.

A top end header built specifically with a SC in mind, will be better than any of those cheap headers(both with and without the SC) and will really blow them away with the SC. But with you being in Cali, are you ready for the headaches that come with mods?

Dont forget the "new" Vibrant race header, a good alternative for SC as it is almost a copy of the JRrh.

this header has popped up like 4 times on this forum in the past 3 days. I want to replace my dc shorty, test pipe, to blox cat back soon. Going to get the vibrant rh, to 06 DC5s midpipe and stock axle back. I decided I'm going to try to dyno my current set up before I sell it and I'll dyno the new set up probably around thanksgiving. Trying to see when the dyno place has cheap dyno days.

I had a stock ECU - DC shorty header/CAT/Greddy EVO2/CAI it made 132whp dynopack. Guess my boy's reads low...??
