The description for all the ViS CF Hoods I see for sale say they are UV coated. This is like a clearcoat or a gel coat? I'm thinking of getting one to replace a busted up stock hood with insurance money. If I buy it should I get the shop to spray clearcoat on it or it comes with it already on?

Anyone know? Also, can I care for the hood like normal painted parts?

i would have them clearcoated at least 3-5 coats before i put them on just to be sure...

Get the Mugen replica CF hood and get it painted. For great justice.

its like a gel coat, and they oxidize, its hard to get them painted or cleared right.

I think seibon is better than vis in quality.

That observation is sure to be of service to the OP.
