Okay,
I have $120-ish to spend on a header.

I have two options which have their own advantages.

Should I get:
A.) Brand new Megan Shorty Header Stainless Steel w/ 1 yr warranty

or

B.) Used DC Shorty Ceramic Header 2 years old

I put in a Comptech Icebox, Megan SS header and Neuspeed SS Catback all at the same time and I'm very happy with the quality of the Megan product.
Well packed, nice welds and easy to install. I also have the test pipe but have refrained from using it due to emission testing and unfortunate increase in exhaust db.

I will consider their Coilovers when the time comes to replace my stock dampers.

i was happy with my megan header, but when paired with the test pipe it requires modifaction of the flex springs. I wanted to keep the pipe and not leak, so I bought the DC header used, experienced little to no differnence. The SS looks better if anyone ever gets around to sneaking behind your engine to see it.

shorty headers are basically useless....save ur money either for the race header or some other mod that will do more than free up maybe 1hp....

They have almost the same design and the Megan is new+warranty... I like my Megan header and would recommend it.

Test pipe makes the real difference however.

I say get a new megan one or just save up for a race header.

Well,
I decided and it's final. I bought a brand new Megan SS header today and paid it.

$135 total shipped.

UPS Ground and it's Friday, I will have to wait all the way accross the weekend/memorial day... plus 1-6 days after that for it! =(

its a really nice header but its still going to be restrictive like the stock header

Looking at the headers,
the difference was barely noticable. It's until I pushed the motor that I felt the difference. Knowing that, I bet a raceheader is countless times better.

I just don't want to deal with smog. I wish I could get one, though.

Used DC they usually pop up on the classifieds pretty often thats where i got mine. I forget how much i paid....wasn't a whole lot. But a nice complement to an intake and exhaust

Eh, false. Plenty of people have put on RH's and realized they have absolutely NO bottom to mid range, and switched out to something like the ITR setup with the cat in order to preserve bottom and mid range while still getting some extra ponies up top.

imo megan's parts are a little cheap for example ive already been through 3 megan downpipes because they keep breaking.

i have a dc shorty head if youre interested for $140 and its in perfect condition.

I've heard the downpipes are worse. Not sure how often the headers break.
