I have thought about getting a short shifter installed in my ep. But I have heard people say that it is not good for the tranny on ep3's. I would like to get some more information on this! Are there any problems that could cause damage from using a short shifter in a ep tranny?

thanks!

Forget about the POS Neuspeed short shift adaptor and go with the BC shifter if you want to reduce the shift pattern.

The BCSS (and I'm assuming the Neuspeed as well) will not cause any damage to your transmission. There's been musing as to whether a heavy shift knob like the Skunk2 would be bad for your synchros (I don't know either way), but a short shifter by itself will cause no damage.

i am confused on how a short shifter of any type could damage or cause problems in the tranny since the change in throw distance and stiffness is all done at the shifter assembly itself.:suspicious:

on the latter note, definatly get the buddy club short shifter.

IMO shorter throws actually reduce potential for the "false gear" type of mis-shift that eats syncros.

yes it will work with the 6 spd. BC is a japanese company that designed it for the JDM CTR.

Yeah, I saw that and thought that maybe they were making a USDM specific shifter. Post up if you have any issues, since mine said that on the box and I'm gonna be putting in a sixth gear here pretty soon.
