finished painting dash last night.

so yeah i ended up finding a good auto paint store and bought some kind of plastic cleaner/degreaser, SEM laundau Black (kudos to VegaS10), and SEM adhesion promoter.

went out to the garage this morning to check on them....
that shit looks good:mtongue:.. i couldn't have picked a better color. thank you mr. VegaS10. if it wasn't for you i would have probably ended up using krylon... and have to touch it up every month or so....

i can understand that, and i thought about it, but i have little to no mods... painting my dash bright red would have been a little ricey, seeing that there is no recaro seats, for example, to match it...

i think black looks better than any other color. if you paint it red,blue, green.ect.ect... you will prob look like a jackass

that what i was trying to say..... i wanted to change it and black looked the most appealing and frankly the most oem looking.
i understand being different and doing something other than black, but i couldn't think of any that would look as good as black.

naw...it cant be a primary color...it has to be a color that isnt too bright or it will look garrish....a dark color or a complimentary color would look good, like a dark navy blue, or the previously mentioned titanium, bronze

so no sanding of the center console is needed? the adhesion promoter does just fine? I wanna do this as soon as I get my Metra dash kit.

I like the look of the wrinkle black in your poll thread by another member. it is very unique.

if you find the other thread with pics, i think i wrote how i did it...
if not:
Prep: cleaner/degreaser, then wet sanded a bit with 1200 grit, then soap and water, then cleaner. lots of drying.
Painting: follow instructions on cans... light promotor, 5 mins, good coat of promotor,15 mins, normal spray painting procedure follows.

if it is unclear or you cant find other thread then pm me or something and i can elaborate....
