Finally...

It took a week and a half but i finally got my car back today with my rsx type-s motor swapped..Im in the break in period right now with about 900 more miles to go...:-( but i wanna break the motor in right!! I will have pics posted this weekend of the engine and stuff like that!!! So far from shifting at 4,000rpm's everywhere im inpressed...I cant wait to give it hell after the 900...:-)

Nice! I was lookin to do the same, one question - where the hell did you get a Type-S engine??? MAN I've been looking for one and its damn hard to find. Junkyards, shops, etc - nobody has one available for a swap. That's the only thing thats holding me back.

I paid 6,000 for the 2002 RSX Type-S engine assembly from the honda dealership! I was having mad problems with the old motor. I had a lemon and the transmission went bad 2 times in it! They were gonna just put a new transmission in it but i bought this motor and got it put in for free!! I will have pics posted Sat. But i still have awhile to go on the break in period. I cant wait to unleash he beast!!! Do you think i can consider my Si and type-r now because the one in sport compact car did?? Peace

Was the whole engine and tranny $6K or was it just $6K for the engine? They can't make it work with the 5 speed, can they?

Yeah it was 6,000 for everything..motor..ecu..etc...And yes its put into a 5-speed transmission!! I am hopeing in janurary to put out faster time than the hasport civic with the swap!! Because they made theres a 6-speed by adjusting it to a 6-speed!! I am putting a apex-i dunk exhuast, aem cold air, and dc sports header and then takeing her to the track for some times!! I wish i could line up with the hasport civic my first race!!!

LoL well dude!! Yes i am a student!! I have been working at a place called Hart Motors for 3 years and i make 8.50 a hour and 10.50 on weekends!! I have been working my ass off saving over the years for somthing big one day!! And i think ive finally did it!! I go to school for 1 class a day and get out at 10:15 and then stright to work to work for my fine Honda Civic HATCH!! If you im only 17 and where did i get to the money...lol check out my friend who is 16 years old and look at his rx7 twin turbo:

Im still under the warrenty from my old engine..I have a lifetime 100,000 mile warrenty that i paid for when i got my car!!

the way i see things @ 8.50 hr your barely able to pay all the bills (40 hr week nets you 17680 per year NET not take home) (car payment, and INS, not to mention having money for school loan -- if you have one--, and going out money:))

I know I know YOUR a MANWHORE!! LOL

For the record ive seen HAsports car run 14s here in PHX in decent weather....It trapped at 94-95 MPH......That 15.6 in SCC was in SHITTY conditions to say the least.

Did you say that you got the type-s tranny with it too, but didn't modify your shift mechanism to give you the 6th gear? If so, I don't see how you could have better gearing. Maybe, I'm missing something.

he had a lemon engine and tranny...instead of gettin honda to get him a new engine and tranny (note: mucho mucho $$$$) he got them to swap in a type s motor he had already bought(less $$$$)
