hey whats up all?
for the last couple of days ive been doing research on the mugen ss, ive heard nothing but good things about the ride quality and the handling but the only thing bothering me about this set up is the ride height. i tried searching but the only thing that comes up are old post with links that dont work anymore. im planning on throwing some 17 inch wheels on my 05 and have the opportunity to puchase a ctr front end conversion for a real bargain and would like to get a better idea of how it would look before i make a big investment like this. the problem that i find with our cars is that factory suspension set up and the short wheel base of our car give it the illusion that it sits so high up and doesnt really look that attractive, and it is quite difficult to imagine what the front lip will do to the ride height in the front as far as looks. pics of an 04-05 si with ctr conversion with the mugen ss would greatly be helpful and appreciated. thank you for your time.

it will look great, i believe it drops close to 1.5" so that would be a perfect stance for the ep3.

I have a typeS 5lug with the MugenSS and run 225/45/17's

That drop looks great!

Seems like the Mugen setup is probably the best all-around coilover for our cars...and it's not nearly as expensive as you would think considering it's made by Mugen :mwink:

i agree 100%, but the drop is still bothering me, dont think it's low enough to give it that aggressive stance.

do you guys think that 16 in wheels will make it look a little lower????

I think 16s will not make it look lower cause 16 in wheels have slightly a smaller diameter. I think Mugen SS looks best with 17s. I have em with 17s, pretty tolerable for a daily driver.

love those wheels but you still got hella gap. i think the OP is wanting like 2 or more inch drop. maybe a different coilover set-up is what he needs.

Yeah but my car can still be driven on less then perfect roads without worries, as well pushed hard through the corners. Just like Talon said, anything lower is just useless and annoying!

running the same wheels and suspension, except my car is black :mcool:

ride height is just right. no worries about scraping.

This is pretty true, cept its not really an instant cut off where if you go a quarter inch lower its suddenly crap.. This height is pretty ideal for handling, and every bit lower than this you go the worse you're handling tends to get.
