Want to get an aftermarket steering wheel

Ok so I think I know the answer to this question, but here it goes anyway. I would love to get a nice after market steering wheel, but I live in cali and I think that it is illegal to swap an airbag equipped steering wheel for one without.

Yeah it is illegal.
It's illegal to remove any safety equipment that came on the car originally. i.e.: seatbelts, airbags etc...

But I don't think that this would be a big deal to a cop. I know a few people who have been pulled over with aftermarket steering wheels and the cop said nothing about them.

I know I'd rather faceplant into an airbag than a nice metal wheel if I was to get in a wreck.

what about the ctr wheel? its a direct fit and it has an airbag... and its momo.

its like one inch smaller diameter and has nicer leather


(not trying to kill any sales, just sayin if an airbag is a big concern)
