Well getting my car professionally tinted tomorrow. 35% all around with visor up front w/lifetime warranty. I hope I like it and they do a good job. Anybody ever get a bad tint job or just regret getting them? Post pics of your tinted ride and what %. I'll post mine in a few...

I bought the car with tint and at first, wasnt too crazy about it for a number of reasons. However recently its grown on me. In the end its not permanent, so if you hate it, rip it off. :mbiggrin:

Anyhow, heres mine. Not sure the percentage, but its not too dark.

EDIT: Visors are whack, unless the sun is killing your eyes then I say stay away and buy some sunglasses, that shit looks like poo. My $.02.

I used to get pulled all the time for the front windows having tint on my ep3 and they were only 35% and the back 3 windows are at 10%. after pulling the front tint off I no longer get harrassed by the revenue generators with guns.

Very true, the lighter colors make it look darker. It's also the height of the car.

My window tint LADY (a gem BTW) and I were talking when we took the wife's Pilot in to have the rears done and I was asking about the front tints and getting hassled, she said that if the officer is generally looking across or up into the vehicle they don't appear as dark, but looking down into a dark interior, especially on a light colored car.

I had both the Pilot and my EP there (SSM) and she said there was no way in hell I could tint my fronts even slightly without hassle, her husband confirmed, who is a county sherrif, but also said he would probably not bother the Pilot (with a lt grey interior and a dark body color). Then smiled and proceeded to say, sorry about your luck, I know it sucks, nice car BTW :mwink:

That would explain why I got pulled over so much in my 3GP. lowered, white, 20% tint, all black interior. I mean, the roof of the car isn't higher then my shoulders when I stand next to it. it was just a low car in general.

I won't tint the EP because of all those experiences. although, I'm gonna get some 5% for my sunroof glass.

Well got it done this morning. 35% all the way around, including visor @15% and sunroof. I'm very happy. I was debating whether to get the visor done or not. Glad I did. Looks real good.:mcool: Will post pics soon.

But the kicker I wasn't pulled over for the tint, was pulled over for random insurance check. After ran my info, came back said tint looks dark, let's see...

As shes writing the ticket also tells me it looks good though on the NHBP and she wanted to get a EP3 too! In my mind I'm going then why are you writing the F-ing ticket!

Luckily the ticket only had it down for 1 window instead of 2 (rear and quarter glass can be any darkness, door glass, and top 5 inchs of front can only be 50% in Ohio). So only cost 95 bucks instead of 190...

20% is perfect, dark enough but you can still see out of at night without issues. 5% is great for sunny days but at night it can be a handicap...since its hard to see out of.

I was referring to the fact you have the front windshield tinted...that's completely idiotic. coupled with 5%, you're begging for an accident.

i got pulled over for my tint n just had to take it off
ended up being $60 to get it taken off n now another $120 to get it back on
i would take a $100 ticket over that any day

Limo tint is nice but as you and i know, at night it can be hard to see out of. 20% all around still offers the privacy/sun protection all the while still enabling you to see out at night. But there is no denying the sickness of 5% tint...yum.
