HUH?!?! $960 to paint front and rear USDM CTR lips?

On the reals, some shop down here in SoCal wanted to charge me $960 to paint and install my front and back replica CTR lips.. is that crazy!? they gave me explaination about it's going to come out wavy because it's aftermarket and will not fit correctly unless they do custom work.. Understood but not for the price... Heck, the front/rear lips only costed me like $300...

so I went to 3 other shops:

1. $450 to pain/install/buff my bumpers
2. $150 to paint and I install myself (they said it was going to be a 2 stage paint)... not sure what that means but I heard 3 stage paint is more OEM so I just took the quote and walled away...
3. $300 to paint and install (mom and pop shop)

so I chose the last option since their work seemed pretty decent...

but $960.. get outta here!... lol

300 is good if you want quality, but since their including the install that makes me think you're getting the paint for like 200 which makes me think it might not be that great.
You can get a spoiler painted good for like 75-110 bucks
lips are usually like 110-150
bumpers are usually around 200
atleast at the places around here, and thats for good paint that you're not gonna say wtf about.

we'll see... he was going to supply screws, double sided tape and also if he does it, there's a warranty... and that's a must since the bottom lip is will get thrashed up alot more than anything else..

thats good.
the warranty will probably not include rock chips or scraping, only things like odd peeling etc.

honestly it all depends on paint and clear coat. a shop can charge you lesser than other b/c the paint quality is lesser.


....at least thats what i'm told.

thats true to an extent, but there is no quality of paint that dictates that for 2 pieces.
my paint job was 4400 and its absolutely flawless, theres no way you can charge a fourth of that just to paint 2 pieces and have it be nicer than my paint.

The Best shop in my area quoted me $400.00 to paint a full lip kit and me install them.

Got my lip kit + rear bumper + m-style grille painted for 225 installed.
you prime and prep it...its gonna b cheaper.

wow thats about what i was quoted for painting all of my ctr kit, all 7 pieces...thats lame...

get it painted by the shop and installed it yourself with a help with your buddy's

Damn....thats all right...$300 is better then $900.....Which is ludacris.
