yay or nay?
The stock axleback is two and a quarter, and the megan midpipe is two and a quarter, should be good for like 5 horses up top with out much loss down low?
feedback wanted

i think back in 02-03, there was a big craze with replacing the 1 3/8" midpipe with a custom 2 1/4 midpipe.

I thnk youll be good with a 2 1/4 to free up some top end. with not much loss down low. Of course, a muffler shop could probably do a 2 1/4 crushbent for like...70 bucks.

I am running a 2.25 midpipe, nice and stealthy some gains not a ton. Main thing for me is to be under the radar.

I think some people were having issues with the megan not lining up properly or something. Someone please confirm.

i had this setup. works fine. gives the exhaust a real sporty tone. the only thing is the midpipe sometimes bangs on the floorboards right after the cat. it can be fixed by dimpling the pipe where it bangs.

interesting bout the banging
I might just wrap that section in heat wrap.

I can get the megan racing midpipe for 160 shipped, mandrel bent with a resonator and its stainless steel with flanges already, etc etc.
It'll just be simpler for my feeble mind to buy the prefab one instead of going to a muffler shop

i have that setup right now. I finally got around to fixing my exhaust leak today from my dcrh to the midpipe so I'm hoping that the sound will improve a tad. Only issue is that the midpipe does bang on the heat shield. I don't feel like taking it off again and wrapping it so I might find a way to ghetto rig something between the two.

I'm running this set up and it works great. I did not have an issue with "banging". I am still running this setup with my k24.

I was considering this setup as well. I hope that when I do, I do not have the banging issue. I really wish neuspeed was still selling their exhaust for our car. It was $499 free ship directly from them. Every other shop wants 100 bucks more.

i am not so sure heat wrapping it is a good idea...doesnt that trap moisture = rust.

from what i have read people cut the heat shield where it hits...
