Well mounted some new tires this saturday while i was at work. They're yokohama s drive's in 225/45/17 im dropped on tien basic full dampener system. Im dropped Two 1/2 inches in the front and 2 inches in the back. Ive been through quite a few tires and i must say, these are the best that ive driven on so far. They are very very smooth while just cruising, and they handle awesome. Fit like a glove...no rubbing issues at all (only when i bust a u-turn but thats hardly ever). Haven't launched and tested them out yet from a dead stop but im sure the time will come. Anyways...onto the pics

They have a nice look to them, you will have to let us know how they handle the twisties after you get them scuffed up a bit.

they are nice looking tires. kind of exspensive when compared to other tires in the category though. put some miles on them and come back with a full review.

How do the sidewalls feel?

The biggest complaint that I had with the ES100's were how sloppy/mushy the sidewalls were. The Hankook RS-2's I have now have fixed most of that though...

I got these tires. I'm a little disappointed with the performance. I had ES100s on the my car for about 4 years, and I loved those tires. I would have gotten them again, but no one had any in stock. I drove the S Drive down the same country road that I did my 100s, but these tires don't grip as well as the 100s did. My 2 cents

Thats weird? I was running the es100's before these as well and i can personally say that the s drives handle just as good if not better. They hook A LOT better then the es100's in my own opinion. Jumped into kpro and set the launch limiter to 5 grand lastnight and launched off these puppys. They hook like none other.

Dont understand what you mean by sloppy/mushy but the sidewall is a tad bit "smoother"/ "softer" then the es100's i had on previously. They are A LOT more quiet then the es100's as well.

Ick. Don't think I would like them then.

When I had the ES100's the sidewall felt like it was flopping over all the time, even during normal driving. They were too soft, especially during hot/humid months, even when overinflated. It made the front end really bouncy.

Too bad you dont live in texas. Id give you a ride and you could see how well they perform. I still dont see what your saying about the previous es100's...if you looked up the ratings you would have seen that they have a very "stiff" sidewall..

The question is what are you talking about? He is pretty much saying that if its not a michelin tire then its not a good tire. There are plenty of tire brands out there ie. yokohama, bfg, toyo....the list goes on...that can easily compete with michelin. I work for discount tire, im around tires 24/7 i would know. That is why i am saying that saying if its not a michelin then its "just a tire" is a very dumb dumb statement.

Compared to what? Stock?

What size did you run them in on your car? I had 205/50/16 so that really wasn't helping me out all that much. My buddies who run the same tire with half the size of the sidewall on their Supra obviously don't suffer from the same things that I experienced, and neither would anyone else in an EP running 17+

I have no regrets or complaints going with the S-Drives. I agree with all the positive comments people are saying about them.
