Hey everyone got a question for ya. I have a JRSC-R on my 03 EP and I am thinking about selling it. That is kinda besides the point though. In order to sell to another person would I need to give them my ECU and ignition module and then use their factory ECU and ignition module? I think I can manage going backwards through the instructions, any thing in particular I should watch out for when going through the removal?

And I guess what would it be worth ya think? It has ~30k or so on it without a problem.

Thanks in advance,

Jon

Well since it is the race kit Hondata reflashed the ECU.

#1 - Do you have K-pro or a reflash?

The reflash not K-pro..

Then your info above is correct (unless you just have the new ecu matched to the key via Honda).

ok so me and a potential buyer would swap ECUs, ignition modules, and keys correct?

If you swap keys then you have to swap out your door locks as well..

Just swap ECUs and get the dealership to sync each car's ECU/immobilizer properly.

Thank you for the response... See why I asked now? I would have gone and done something really stupid without that response! Do you know how much it would cost to have a dealership do something of that sort?

Thanks

Jon

Most Honda dealerships will charge you the hourly flat fee (~70).

Just remember that you'll need to get it there for the key flash. Are you planning on towing it? Otherwise, find a friend with K-pro and see if they'll let you borrow it until you get to the dealer. Then, you can swap in the OEM ecu when the tech gets it into the shop.

I wish I had the luxury of living in an area with other EP people, but no such luck in Iowa. Probably have to tow it I suppose.

Actually there may be, he has a turbo kit and I think also K-Pro. Is there a convenient way to use that in my car so I can get to the dealership? I don't know anything about K-Pro so pretend I am an idiot when explaining! :mwink:

Yes.

1 - Remove his ECU
2 - Swap it into your EP
3 - Open K-manager
4 - Connect a laptop to the ECU via the USB
5 - Open the stock SI k20a3 kal
6 - Turn the ignition on to the second click (do not start).
7 - Upload the .kal file
8 - You're good to go

Once you arrive at the dealer and have the car in the bay swap ECU's with the one you're flashing to the key.

You're all set
