well, it depends on the model azenis. you're probably talking about the rt-615, but i personally have been running azenis st-115s, and there may be one or two others with the azenis name.

p.s. the st-115s have a 360 treadwear rating (i have about 20k on those tires, with a couple thousand to go)

,
Bridgestone Potenza RE01R, Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Spec, Toyo R1R - all better than the azenis.

Faulken Azenis are "ok" I upgrade to the Fk452 and those are amazin. Not ideal for drag racing but with trick walls, it grips like glue around the bend. It was built to compete with the Toyo T1R and cost allot less.

Back on topic, I believe these will be my next tires.
To those that already have them, how many miles have you been able to get out of them?

They were better when they were really cheap a few years ago, but they're really great on a set of spare wheels, if you do weekend HPDEs.

They just don't last on a DD.

The falken azenis rt-615 is an amazing tire!! they are sticky (not the stickiest, but seriously sticky enuff) and falkens quality control is unsurpased.
i have put a set of rt-615s on a wrx sti and a auto-x scion tc. i would put a set on my car but there tread wear and wet breaking ability is too low for my taste, my next tires are the falken 452s. 5 ribs for superior handling!!! tires are the best place to start for upgrading handling.
rykos 2cents.

They are a good autoX tire.....but they are effected by heat cycles.....so they will get less grippy are they get older.....They suck for track days though, the longer track runs goes past their heat range and they get "greasey".....I wanted a set for this years autoX season but the cash did not work out.........I would not use them for dd though.

Agree 100%
Azenis 615 are a good upgrade from street crap. However hardly cream of the crop. Next set of tires will be Toyo R888's. DROOOOOOOOL!

Thanks.

I've been looking for a 5 lug set for a LOOOONG time. They are out there. The ones I've found have always been damaged, or curbed, or in horrible shape.

If I ever do find a set in as good as condition as my 4 lugs, I will buy them on the spot (I actually have $ set aside for it).

When i run 1 set of rims for my car i have gone with the Falkens. Now that i have a set of rims that i don't wanna do track days or auto-x with i have decided to go with a less aggressive tire for the streets and a more aggressive tire for auto-x.

But for the money the Falkens have decent tread wear i have gotten between 10-15K miles on them and still some tread left and they have a ton of grip. No complaints at all.

the azenis are my auto x and dd tires. so far i got about 10,000 miles on them and 3 autocross days with 5 runs each day. I'd say they are about 1/2 way to being trash. never had a problem with them in the rain. I love how they grip when its a warm summer auto cross day. For me its hard to beat $90 per tire. So i really think they are a good buy.

Falken Ziex Ze 912 are their all-season tires. great treadlife, excellent traction in light snow (i was great in snow up to about 3 inches). for the heavy stuff, i'd probably get dedicated snow tires. cornering is decent, and the sidewalls are still fairly stiff. traction in the rain is excellent.

bang for the buck,

you can't beat the rt615's.

but the re01r's are even better i hear, although they cost a bit more.

i wish i had the money for these rims in 5 lug, i think the ctr's would go bye bye for those.

and for those that like azenis but want the longer treadlife - get the st115's... they are just as grippy and the treadlife is amazing for an azeni. they have the best of all worlds... plus they are specifically designed to be a great audio guru setup (well, thats how they are advertised) because they are so dam quiet. no road noise FTW.

yea i suppose it depends on how heavy snow will be in ny. if i get dedicated snowies i can still ride em around a bit, no?

A set of Ziex's would not cut it up here in the winter time. You would be dead in a ditch somewhere!

The tire with the most comparable grip and much longer lifespan compared with the RT615 is the Hankook RS2 z212. The hankooks are also offered in a better variety of sizes.

Both sets of my rt615's lasted about a year each. I've had the wider hankooks for 18 months now (since jan 07), and they are still great.

I have the Phallyken Zeix 912 on my ep3. Absolutley love them. Rain, mud (there is alot of dirt roads where I live), whatever, the 912's go right through it. They are also pretty quiet and ride nice.

The eg just goes to meets, nice nights out, and twisty roads when I get the urge. The Azenis have been on there for over a year, with MAYBE 5000 miles on them...still, I'd say 85% tread.
