The oem fog switch must have a seperate "on" signal from the dash/parking lights or a ground loop will be generated and the on and backlighting will both light up as soon as you enable the switch(parking or dash light source).

Correct, it will be MUCH easier to just use the parking lamp circuit to trigger the relay. I DO like the straight to the battery approach!

...also on the rsx switch there are five cables and on the wiring diagram only has three wires going to the switch... how do i go from three to five... (i do want them to be independent from the headlights and stuff)

Hang tight.. I need to repost all this stuff.. I did not save it to repost and we had the last info dump.

I made a plug -N- Play harness with the RSX switch and ebay fog harness then posted a DIY, pretty much as I did it and it was fresh in my mind... it got lost.

I got all the pics and stuff... I just need to type it back up.

I was PMing a guy about doing it, maybe he saved a copy of at least the text, it was fairly comprehensive.

k that would be great just let me know where i would be able to find it... i just got them in the mail today and all the wiring that came with it seems like its plug and play, im hesitant to just go ahead and install them tonight but i [B]dont[B] want to burn any fuses or anything else. since i want my fogs to be separated from the controls of the headlights i though about doing it this way...

Internally the switch is identicle to the stock foglight switch. So are you using the original cruise switch or a spare switch? You can get a stock fog switch very easily, the one that comes with the factory optional fog kit is the same exact part# as the stock typeS switch.

You will need to either procure a chassis harness end connector, or solder leads upon the switch pins.

I do believe I still have one or two fog switchs that have leads soldered onto the pins out in the garage.

I was able to achieve the same effect with my factory fogs by switching the wires in the switch.

here's the DIY:

nope they are both exactly the same

the power for illumination and power in general are two different wires
