Hmm I was considering a single Alpine Type R 12" since the JL 13w7 is bout $400-500. Maybe I will take a look at these w6 series.

The w6's are a great line of subs.

I recently sold my last one and the guy loves it.

I had a w6 10" running off a 600 watt mono alpine amp. That little thing could pump and it sounded so good. Im looking into getting a 12 and fiberglassing a box. I one audio magazine it said that the 12 is the best sounding woofer they have ever heard.

The W6 is a great driver, the W7 is certainly better but I'm still on the fence as to if it's worth the price. It has excellent properties bit IMHO there are better options for the less extreme... like the W6 and others.

So,, Lets see some pics!

I have had 12" JLs before and I thought they sounded better than the 12" RF speakers I used to have. Next time I want JLs again.

I have a JL 10" W7 is custom sealed box powered by a JL 500/1 v2. I honestly believe it is too much for our small hatch, you definately can get by with something cheaper, I would say like a W3. At the time I didnt know any better, and bought it more for the bling factor over the W3 or W6. The sealed box quieted down alot, the old vented box (Was a prefab box, the sub ripped all the screws out when playing at high volume one day) was much, much, louder. Definately the cleanest and most responsive Ive listened too though. I have the sub turned down about 1/2 way on the crossover setting, gain about 3/4 up on the amp. Thats the balance it needed just so it doesnt drown out the Polk momo's in all four corners powered by 700 watts. But it sure is nice to beat on during those long open drives to something good.
