I have a k20a3 (ep3) motor. with a PRB type s manifold.
I need a tune for this, would anyone happen to know?

I didnt even notice i was using a type S manifold til now and I cant run a proper tune now, any ideas?

the type-s and ep intake manifolds are the same. no tuned needed

no i didnt pay for it. ok if you see my other thread youll see the problem im having

i have a k20a3 motor, with a PRB intake manifold. i used kpro to run a k20a3rsx base tune, also the k20a3-civic-factory tune... i ran pretty much all the tunes, 270cc injectors but the car is running shit.

any ideas?

how many miles are on the car? mods? check the plugs???

prb is the stock manifold mang......when loading the kal make sure its for the civic k20a3 and not the base a3. they are a little different.

Those are only starting points, now you start street tuning.

And "but the car is running shit" isnt enough of a description for anyone to help you. We need to know the mods, etc.

sorry, heres the thread
http://ephatch.com/forum/showthread.php?t=47882

everything is stock now.
270cc injectors
k20a3 motor
stock exhaust/header
stock intake

everything BUT kpro. i used to have a boost tune on the kpro so when i installed kmanager I uploaded one of those preconfigs and they all ran kinda the same, none ran smooth.

k20a3-base-factory
k20a3-civic-factory
k20a3-87octane

alot of the k20a3, none ran properly? any ideas

Are you using the latest version of Kmanager?

I know that if you don't clear security and then use the File > New and then upload a fresh .kal it will run extremely poorly. I found this out myself the hard way at 1030 on Tuesday night... I was literally pulling what little hair I have out trying to figure out wtf was going on...

latest version of kmanager... just tried what u told me to robhats ep3 but nope, same..

i think its cuz the ecu board i have is a PRB kpro board but i need a PND for the k20a3.

Your Short Term Fuel trim ranges from 15-25% in spots, which is very high. (IE: The ECU is adding lots of fuel to maintain 14.7 to 1. Attach your calibration for review.

Is it possible your manifold isn`t sealed properly or your O2 sensor is bad?

i think the problem may be the rsx ecu cuz the base models have a different intake manifold. their manifold has butterflys in the runners which are controlled by the ecu. if it isnt the ecu itself giving you problems then i would just make sure you are loading a ep3 k20a3 base map and go from there.

good luck ..... contact Hondata if you have to

im loading the calib that comes with kpro

well you need to get a ep3 ecu then

That can be enabled/disabled in Kpro. The fact that it's an RSX ECU is irrelevant - Kpro lets you run a tune for a different motor (look at the guys with a2 swaps running on a Kpro'd a3 ECU).

yea but i saw something on crsx about guys having probelms with base models and intake manifolds

If he were trying to use a non-base ECU on a base RSX IM I could see that, but the type-S manifold does not have the dual runners, and the EP base tune doesn't try to control the runners.
