i was going to install the first of my 3 engine mods today. The AEM CAI. my friend had a 92 honda accord with an Injen Intake. It was loud as hell even with normal driving. I was hoping for my ep to give the awesome sound his gave. What should i expect when i get done istalling it? thanx!

PS. All the messages about the sound of intakes are deleted...so dont tell me to search!

Below about 4000 rpm you can hardly even tell it is there, about that, especially at full throttle you will be scaring little children! It's good because it is not loud when you drive normally but becomes loud when you want it to be (when you drive hard). I 'm sure you will like it though.:D

When I had a 2000 celica gts my first(only) mod was an AEM CAI and my father told me that it sounded like a 327 chevy small block. I don't know if that helps but hey better than nothing right? :)

You don't hear anything under 4k, I have an Injen as well.

the sound isnt bad at all, throaty when you really get on it, while putting arounf town its pretty tame. IMO -Joe. :)

It's all good, your not going to start any alarms with the AEM CAI
and as has been stated, it will only become a great sounding volitile whirl when you get above 4k. Am sure anyone can live
with it. I have over 27,000 kms on my ride now and love
the throaty effect and power after 4k. I know that the i-vtec is
not engaging until at least 4800 rpm, and don't care what others
think. I just wish we had a more robust lower end instead of
"one sleeping eye". (not to mention larger lobes when
it does engage):p

That's pretty much how my Injen sounds as well.
