well the idea of the ls1 is out the window lol
well my block cracked in 3 different places with 19,400miles on the car so after a fight with honda its going to be covered by waranty. they are replacing the entire engine, which they had to over night from japan.
i would like to sell the car but i dont know what i would get with a brand new engine. the car is a black 05,perfect condition with a engine with 0 miles on it.
im hopeing to get 16-17ish for it cause thats what i owe.

16k at the most imo if completely un modded.

I'd say 14.5k - 15.5k is achievable, atleast in my local market. Im not in Florida so I don't know.

I highly doubt you will get 16-17k even though its a brand new engine. Everything else is still used.

That seems about right to me. I would even say it might go for a little less considering that 05's were available towards the end (when they were clearing out inventory for the new Civic model) for about $16k to $17k before taxes.

the asking price the dealer i bought my 04 ep from with 6800 miles on it was 16,800...now i only picked it up for 12 since i work at honda and know people but that was there original asking price of the car

getting a engine from Japan? I thought most likely it would come from the UK...

Wow, congrats on the engine!! I'd say sit on the car for like 10 years without driving it and then throw it on Ebay. Someone will be looking for it as a "rare" model and might make it a collector.

What?

19000 miles on clock and new engine...so drive this EP into a ship container ....

Thats the problem Honda made in europe with engine types....They don't made some engine between D17 and K20A2....

For me its the ideal car....with K20a3....a good compromiss between too slow but cheap and fast but expensive ;)

SO i only say... F**K Duties and purchase taxes...

without this shit I would say 15500 dollars + shipping...are ok

Wow....come to Canada guys! A ep like that would definetly get $17g's.
Up here 03 ep's with 100,000+ k's on it go for 15 to 16g's.

well they cant figure out what happend to it. i drove about a mile from my house and it just died. the whole inside of the motor was rusted out, there was water sitting in the camshaft, the cams are so rusted and corroded that i cant beleve it was running. but it was running fine since i got it but then it just died.
the new motor is a k20a3 but he said its the jspec version

getting a engine from Japan? I thought most likely it would come from the UK...

our engines were not made in the UK
the car was manufactured in swindon, the engines are all produced in japan and usa, they have dedicated plants for each chassis as well as motors, it wouldnt be efficient to have the plant making the car also make the motor because they would need all new machinery that is already set up somewhere else.
no such thing as a jspec k20a3
the motor didnt go in any japanese cars whatsoever.
thats just the dealer trying to cheer you up.
even if they did give him a k20a by some amazing fluke (which they arent going to do, the dealer says k20a3 and they send a k20a3) it would be useless, they wont replace the ECU, so he'll have a motor with 3 lobe dual cam vtec that will only ever activate 2 lobes on the intake cam, leaving you with 3 useless lobes and a motor that wont run right, unless you got a different ecu.
