Hey just thought I'd introduce myself to everyone. My dad's had the car since 2003 brand new, and has hardly used it, as it only has 18k miles. I'm just coming up on my 16th birthday, and have found out that the EP gets to be mine . Looking forward to getting to know everyone in the community, and getting started on the mods :mcool:

Welcome to the site.

Where in Texas are you? If you're within four or so hours of Dallas, you should come to this meet next weekend (http://ephatch.com/forum/showthread.php?t=42957) & meet some of us.

No "it's too far" excuses! I'm driving eight hours!

Take care of that sexy ep3. Do your research before you start throwing money at your ep3.

I bet there will be a few haters here, 16 and getting a fairly new car, i mean its no BMW but my first car, which i paid for all by myself, was an 83 cadillac. That bitch was clean and mean though, not a spot of rust, and had the police package motor in it, i went through rear tires like the sun rises.

wow, brand new car for nothing.

wow. Well your dad probably bought it thinking it was fast...... and then found out the truth, and now giving it to you.

Yeah just dont be one of those 16y/o who think because they have an SI they have to mug everyone they see. Its a slow car, and looks like a hamster.

A 7 year old gsr can beat you. no need to think other wise.

Thanks for the warm welcoming from everyone. Just want to say that yes, I know this car isn't very fast. My older brother has a sick em1 that would smoke this car any given day. Even my mom's RL would probably do the same. I'm just glad I don't have a run down beater or something. No worries about a cocky 16 y/o who thinks he can mean mug everyone lol

my opinion is....you have got a nice car for getting started as driving...

And be lucky of that fact you have a K20A3....here in Europe you would probably get some Ep1 with D14 engine or some like that....

just be careful man,

i started out with having two beat up cars in a row, it seems like almost every new kid with a license and a nice car is prone to smashing it up.

drive safe!

If I were you, at your age, I'd start getting seat time ASAP...autocrosses, HPDEs or PDXs, anything.

I think the car's stock power/layout are perfect for novices.

the ep is a great palce to start, no new driver needs 200+hp.

the basic fundamentals of driving/racing/ auto-x etc. dont need excessive power. its all about working up to something and slowly modifying/learning about cars

Killeen, roughly 2 hrs or so south of dallas

Killern, Fort Hood area huh.. not much going on around there besides the Army base.

Been around that neck of the woods a few times.

Congrats on your ride...just got one myself... but not in good condition.

Make sure you follow these steps:
Step 1 Buy yourself a $500 beater
Step 2 Park your EP3 in your garage
Step 3 Turn your beater into a square
Step 3 Remove the EP3 from your garage after you have had at least two fender benders with your beater.
Step 4 At this point you should have learned how EASY it is to be stupid. ( I am speaking from experience....)

Enjoy!!!

these guys forgot the most important thing......

DO NOT POWERSHIFT YOUR CAR.

Atleast until you're confident with your driving enough to know your cars limit.

Don't be like another one of the noobs on here or with their new SIs that keep breaking 3rd because they don't know how to move their hands and feet at the same time >< :laser:

Are you sure there isn't a vagina between your legs? You sound like a little bitch.

Anywho, congrats on the car. It's a great DD. I'd recommend not heavily modifying it, but I'm 23 and have a different idea of mod-able cars.

That's the most babied 2003 EP3 I've ever seen. Congrats on the new whip.

Owners always complain about their EP3. I do, too. The only reason is just because it has an economy vtec. Other than that and the transmission (lol), it is a great car. No, seriously, I fuckin love my EP3.

Many people who upgrade always say they miss their EP3. There's nothing like it. It's hard to explain. There's no other feeling like being in an EP3. The perfect sleeper.

I agree, i'm 19 I bought the car with money i've earned since I got out of highschool 2 years ago.

I bought a few mods, and some mods that needed to be done to my high mileage queen (74k miles and counting) and now I have no money to put gas in, gotta borrow the gas card hahaha! :fencing: :playball:

YES i agree. i know because i was 1 of them. i beat the living shit out of my ep when i first got it, and where did it get me? in a huge amount of debt.

i suggest keeping the car stock for a while, maybe an intake and exhaust for the engine, but i would keep it at that.

remember, you are a new driver. i got my 05 when i was 16 and for the first year i kept it bone stock. trust me its worth waiting, get comfortable with the car and learn how to drive properly and safely. most important, be a defensive driver, because there are alot of assholes on the road that don't give a shit about you.

good luck and congrats. be safe
