I would say it is not worth it unless you already have kpro.

Nitpick: we have an inline-4 engine. You have one header, not multiple headers.

The only cams you can run on the stock ECU are the Skunk2 Stage 1 cams (I don't know if anyone else makes equivalent cams). For anything else you need Kpro and a professional tune.

Kpro FTW cuz you pretty much need k pro for everything else other than intake/exhaust.. when you have k pro then get cams.

if you have a low budget then i suggest just getting stage 1 skunks and just leave it at that. get all the bolt ons you can get. or nitrous!!! engine management is much needed for anything else

Well once you start slapping on more power adders you're gonna want kpro so you might as well save up and get the kpro first then get cams and so forth. This hobby isnt cheap as we all know by any means. Sometimes you have to sacrific other things to save up money. I lived off Ramen noodles and rice for a couple of months to get my turbo kit on my previous car.

if youre gonna get nitrous I would suggest getting Kpro since it has features for nitrous so you wont blow your engine squeezing the bottle.

If you don't get kpro then you are limited to CAI/RH/E/IMG/S2 stage 1 cams. You should really have kpro for that but a bunch of people don't.

I would save up some money and get another engine and decide if I want forced induction or all motor then build that motor accordingly. Do your research and take your time with it. When it's all done and everything is perfect, put the new engine in your ep3 with kpro.

You could always cam your k20a3 and if the engine blows, oh well. From what I have heard, (I could be wrong of course) the k20a3 just doesn't like aftermarket cams and too often you will have problems. I remember CarbonFiberDesire's problems with cams in the k20a3. The k20a3 does well with a turbo on it though.

Good luck deciding. Stack some $ in the bank while you do your research.

^^ I think that Carbon Fiber Desire was pushing the a3 pretty hard though. Didn't he have Stage 3 cams?

Several members have used Stage 2 cams (with valvetrain upgrades) with no issues on the a3.
