Set 1 -
Eclipse SC8362 - Easily the cheapest sounding of the whole bunch. These literally hurt my ears, because the tweeters were harsh and the midbass was muddy.

Set 2 -
Diamond M651 - Nice sound, severely overpriced at the places I looked. I wasn't overly impressed, but I wasn't underwhelmed either.

Set 3 -
Pioneer TS-C160R - I was actually impressed with the sound of these. The music wasn't too artificial, nor was it flat. Tweeters were smooth and crisp, but not tinny.

Set 4 -
Alpine SPR 176A - Probably the ones I'll go with. Overall they had a better sound than any of the above, the mids were precise, the tweeters were smooth and detailed. I didn't notice any distortion at volume, like I did (especially) with the Eclipses. I also noticed that they never got harsh, no matter how loud I had them... even louder than I would have them in the car, certainly.

Set 5 -
MB Quart PSD216 - Quite honestly, the most overrated speaker I've ever heard.

Of course, this is all based on what MY ears like, YMMV. Just sharing. :D BTW, Focal, a/d/s, and Oz are still on the list "to be listened to."
