If i were to replace the usdm cluster with a type r cluster, would the measure ments be off? would i have to get it calibrated?

Your best bet would be to located a UKDM Type R Cluster like mine. The incriments are the same as stock except you have a higher redline and mph. Where as the JDM Cluster is im kmh. I have a buddy that has one currently for sale, hit me up if you're interested!

Only thing about the UKDM cluster is that you'll have to cut one wire off the harness and ground it to the cd player bracket to have working dash lights. I can show you how to do it, and this only takes 15 minutes to do.

Here is two pics of it installed in my car.

try trolling on ebay for a month or two. I usually see them popup from time to time.

I bought a broken type R cluster from the UK and swaped the white face plate with the one on the Si cluster that way you can keep your OD and you don't have to mess with wires and you keep your illumination pot.

if you swap the white face plate (im assuming you mean from the type r to the si
you're rpm gauge will still climb at the same rate, but when its at the 6800 spot you'll be at 7800
and when you're at 60mph youre thing will read.. uh.. something else. =\

Still i wish i hadn't lost my mileage from the old cluster..... Now i don't know how many miles are on the car exactly. I just know over 100k....

As for the cluster...i was going to go this route(ukdm) but then saw s2k cluster installed on an ep and i fell in love:mtongue:

Hmmm, Yea I didn't think that the scale would be different. Are you sure? I checked the Tach against Kpro and it read the same but I'll have to find something to check the Mph :mfrown:

Find one of those "Your speed is:" radar/signs.

i mean if you'e keeping everything the same except for the white faceplate, they have to make the numbers closer together so they can fit more numbers in the same size circle. So the space between 1000 rpms will be smaller on the new face plate than the old face plate. The needle doesnt know this cause you've kept your old internals. You'll bounce off your revlimiter at whatever RPM its set at, and the needle will be in the correct place, but the number will probably read 1k higher because they have to squeeze an extra 1k rpms on the tach.

for example, look at my USDM gauge
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v427/Kelbane/ep3083.jpg

vs this UKDM gauge that you posted
http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k136/20Civic02Si/DSC00308.jpg

the 80mph mark is on the right of the top center on the UKDM gauge, and its on the left of the top center on mine. So you think you're going 80, but really you're going faster.
also, the 140 on the UKDM cluster is exactly on the far right of the circle, where as the USDM one is in the bottom corner where the 160 is on the UKDM cluster. the same thing is an issue with the RPMS

you can vaguely see that the very last number on your gauge is 9.5k and on mine its 8k, so when your at 8k rpms the needle will be pointing at 9.5
