i was just wondering if i could use my stock belt with these pulleys or if i will have to go out and buy a new one. Which one would work the best

from what i remember in some previous posts (pre-meltdown period) it was a bad idea to use the underdrive or lightweight pulleys in our car. something to do with the way the motor is balanced and the weight of the pulleys effects this. can anyone back this up or correct this for me?

Unorthodox Pulleys = BAD!!!!!.... Not the company but for the K engines.

well, from what I've heard.....

Yea, pretty sure that they can be ok but if you get a bad brand or something the balance being off will pwn your bearings. I thought this was ALL engines also, not just K series.

You can't use the stock belt to answer your question.

DO NOT use them, the Kseries engines require a crank pulley that is also a harmonic balancer. The supposed gains will be imperceptible, and the gain in vibrations, loss of reliability are not worth it.

Just for the sake of discussion if you didn't use the crank pulley, but just the accessory pulleys would that be okay?

ive heard of people using them on the Alternator and AC pulley with good results

That would be fine, the accessory pulleys are not balanced other than statically.
If you want to drive your accessorys slower, just swap out the stock crank balancer and just go with a K20A2 pulley(5.5"dia) or the K20A crank pulley(5"dia). I had to add a couple washers between the alternator and the block to use the stock length serpetine belt.

I have Had my Ur pulleys on for over three years and no problems at all. But you will need a different belt.

When I bought it there was only the alternator pulley and you didn't need a new belt.

fluidampr makes an internally balanced 5-7/8"crankshaft pulley for the k series. The accessory pulleys wont cause any unbalancing from what I've heard. So I'd get the UR accessory pulleys with a fluidampr crank pulley if you do decide to do anything to the pulleys IMO

I don't want to go with a smaller crank pulley because I don't want to slow down my blower, and I don't want to go with a smaller blower pulley because belt slip is an issue.

Thats the same reason I didn't go with the fluidamper, its even smaller than the K20A2 CP IIRC.

I'm almost certainly not going to do any of them, was just curious.
