My E-Brake handle was chipped when I bought the car and I never did anything..time to do something! Anyone else who had this problem what did you do? The part I mean is right on the top just below the button.

there used to be a diy on this but you gotta take the whole handle off which required removing the whole dash portion where the e brake is located. Better off masking everything off and then just spraying it

I guess that would mean first chipping off all the rest of the chrome paint still there or something?
How did someone actually fix this?

i had the whole center console removed to adjust the e-brake and i still couldn't get it off. i couldn't find anything that was holding it in place either.

You can soak the part in ammonia and it will come right off. Ammonia containing cleaners(window cleaners) will make the chrome come off, as well as the ammonia in some peoples sweat.

So you are saying someone who liked to rest their excessively sweaty palm on the ebrake is the cause of this problem?

There is a button for e-brake drifting you can put over the chrome button. It basically always presses the button down so you can pull the -brake fast without having to press the button.

HERE (http://www.google.com/products?client=safari&rls=en&q=cusco+drift+knob&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&um=1&sa=X&oi=product_result_group&resnum=1&ct=title) are some examples. Look around and you can probably find one for $2 plus shipping.

I am not sure how the fitment is on the ep3. Perhaps someone knows.

The dealership I bought mine at actually replaced it under warranty! But the car was only a year old then and still under the factory warranty...

The oem replacement button isn't that expensive. Go buy one and fix it. You regret doing some ghetto mod later since you probably put your hand on that button EVERY single time you drive it...

Nice DIY, thanks.

For anyone who knows, how about using a dremel to take off the chrome paint?
What extension would be used? Got one recently but not too experienced using it. Last time I did, I made the holes in my bumper for the mugen replica lip..
