get a VIN check. I say if it comes back clean, test drive it. If there is no steering rack creak, and it rides nice, it's worth it. plus it's VBP, that makes it worth more then other EP's:mbiggrin:

am i the only one that thinks thats a rip. you can find an s2k with maybe 30k more miles prolly cheaper than that. i paid 2500 more than that 3 years ago new.

I paid 13,000 for mine with the same amount of miles. I would bring him down some.

Agreed completely-- I paid $13800 in 2003 for my EP with 18k miles.

Auto-up windows aren't worth that much.

Jesus! Did they at least lube up before putting it in?

Anything under 10K miles I would consider a new car.

02-03's are worth $10k at most. 04-05's are worth $12k at most. They'd have to be clean as hell too.

this is true...

i was at the dealership the other day with my parents (mom bought brand new civic 4-door). i asked the salesman if he had any idea what trade in would be for an 05 si with 40k miles. he said MAYBE $12,000

the guy probably priced it like that because he'd knew people will be negotiating. talking him down 2 grand from his asking price and work from there. I would say something like in the low 13,000 range is ok.

exactly. I would guess about 50% of people that buy from dealerships talk them down some. the other 50% are either too excited to care, or don't have a clue. We talked the dealer down $2k on my EP. mainly b/c I found a few small exterior dings/scratches, and bitched to them that body work is real expensive, then I saw the interior center console had a crack, bitched about that, and the cig burn in the rear seat. So I guess I had viable reasons to knock some money off. but none the less, I got it done.

without reading any other responses I say definitely not. All the Ep's are pretty much the same and I know you can find an older one with the same mileage for less. For that kind of money you are well on your way to a new Si.

That car has been listed on the SF/Bay Area CraigsList for at least 2 months. That in itself says a lot.

NADA Book from 2/08 shows a clean retail 05 EP3 at $15075. Not saying it's worth that much, but since it's a dealer that's selling it, then they probably based their price according to NADA or Black Book (not Kelly Blue Book).

Believe it or not, all Civics, including the EP3 have gone up in value the past year thanks to high gas prices.
