the close ratio is madefor a2 with high rev... i read it somewhere a3 couldn't take advantage of the tranny

yea I don't think its worth the trouble. HAving a 6th gear would be nice though, even if we already do get 30mpg fwy

You need to notch the shifter for sure or get an aftermarket shifter. The other benefit is the close ratio gears, no big drop in revs like our 1-2 shift. Yeah we could get another few mpg in mileage too.
