If you're really set on that scheme I would just sell your car, get a white EP and even if you preped and just rattle canned the roof gloss black (I've seen some quality rattle can work when you prep and take your time and it's just one panel) it would look just as good as a full repaint to white minus the roof. I just think that changing the color of a car is a pain in the ass and it never comes out perfect unless you strip the car down to the body.. no windows.. nothing, before paint. Plus you're talking about painting the car a color it comes in possibly, lol. If you buy a Taffeta White EP and shoot the roof gloss black you can always paint the roof back easily where you can't reverse a full colorchange without just that.. a full colorchange. Seems like the only way you can get better resale value from painting a car is when it's either:

A. Painted the same color it was from the factory to freshen up faded paint or repair a wreck.

or...

B. Completely stripped down to nothing and repainted entirely (probably including the engine bay).

i think he is right... but on the other hand, that scheme looks pretty damn cool to me.

I like it. I like it more when people paint the outside edges of the hood (where the bumps are above the headlights... leave the centre black). Know what I mean?

was thinking of just spray bombing the engine bay flat black when i do the swap so i wouldnt be too concerned about that, not worried about the interior, but i'd do most of the prep work myself to save some money, i know a guy that sprays and does a real good job, so i'd just prep it at his shop...if i left the door jams black it wouldnt really be noticeable from the outside would it?

Do what makes you happy man. All i'm saying is.. an all over colorchange is time consuming to do it really right and if you leave your jams black and just shoot the body white the resale value is gonna tank on that car. People like clean stock cars most of the time when they buy used. Even if it looks good "from the outside" alot of serious buyers will shy away from repainted cars.

Np at all. I just remember how bad I wanted to paint my Integra that I had before the EP. It was red (I dislike red) and it was faded so i decided to paint it a cool custom bright white with blue pearl. The paint looked great but eventho my hatch and door jams were done I was still never happy with the money I spent to get it. There was a little overspray here and there on the rubber moldings around the windows that couldn't be helped even if you take your time masking. There were more things that bothered me about it but the point is.. eventho I hate red, I wished I had repainted it stock. Goodluck to you whatever you decide to do and if you paint it up.. post pics

Do what you want man, showoff's ride looks pretty sweet.

there was a guy on here that in his member's ride page had what you describe. he had a TW EP, black roof and a CF hood and had the side humps painted to match the body. I thought it looked great.

I've been contemplating that on my vivid blue ep. Getting a CF mugen hood, painting the side of it VBP and then the roof gloss black, and getting a CF mugen spoiler and leaving the center CF and painting the sides VBP. I think the black roof with CF hoods look classy and sporty.

Paint the cf.
two tone is cool
tri tone is not.
i think champ white with black roof and black hood and hatch will look nice, but having black and carbon fiber and white is sorta pushing it in my opinion.

first car with black paint, im not liking it so much...another thing that crossed my mind was instead of leaving the roof Nighthawk Black, was to paint it with that nice BASF flat black (Just on the roof)

a car can be painted and come out very close to flawless a couple small in perfections but only one person knows and its because i detail it... it has been in hot import night and unless you see the interior you wouldn't know that it was even repainted

Why not backwards panda, just do a gel coat of white over a cf hood and white roof and white tail. That would be cheaper and still look pretty cool.

I was actually going to paint mine similar but i was thinking of doing a root beer candy hood, roof, and hatch until i got my carbon fiber pieces instead of doing another honda color as an accent.

I was gonna go as far as doing a lip kit the same candy color as the rest and doing the rest of the car pearl white.

It's defiantly time consuming as well as expensive but the paint company i spray at work was willing to give me all the materials but i'd have to incorporate the their logo some where into the car which i'm not willing to do.

Good luck on the project, hope it turns out well for you!

Do whatever makes you happy. Others have touched on the key points. It lowers resale value, and PLEASE take the time to jam the car. There's nothing worse than looking in a car and it not having matching jams. Half-ass'd FTL
