I'm thinking of lowering my ep; as well as, replace the stock rims for some 16s or 17s(help me decide).

I found this very helpful,

(Mechanic's post)
http://www.ephatch.com/forum/showthread.php?t=46764&page=2

but, I still need some help...

Should I purchase rims and tires first and install them on my ep while the suspension is still stock? With it on, how good/bad will it affect my driving and stock suspension? Tire size isn't an issue at the moment, since I found other helpful threads that talk about not rubbing against the inside and stuff, so I'm ok there =D

OR?!

Should I just leave the stock 15s on for now, and purchase a decent set of lowering springs (looking for at least a 2" drop)? Anything else I should also consider besides the springs? (I don't want to deal with the new lowering springs killing the stock shocks and what not.) What brands would you guys recommend? Anyone have any pics of a drop still on stocks?

I could really use all of your expertise on this!!! Been thinking wayyyy to long and hard for me to come up with a decision.

Pics of my ep (I'm beginning not to like seeing this big gap everyday)

the eibach sportlines are a great lowering spring. i think its about 1 1/2 " drop, so its still gravy with the stock shocks. looks real good. a nice 16" wheel will fill out the wheel well nicely.

if yours gona lower it make sure you get aftermarket shocks. might as well just do it right all that once.

Is really up to you what you want to do.

either some wheel and tires or springs and shocks.

i would definitely go with spring/shock combo first.

all aftermarket wheels do is make the gap look even bigger.

Ok haha thanks guys, I really needed help deciding. After looking up more posts, I'm convinced that I need to work on my suspension first before I work on how my ep looks (of course when it's finally dropped, it would look completely different =D but that doesn't count)

Thanks again, I'll post pics of my drop when I order, recieve, and install them!

the only mod that cut your brakeing distance is tires....I vote new rims and stickie tires( not all seasons). My vote is to protect your car. stickie tires can cut stopping distances by as much as 20ft in 60-0 stops....thats a car lenght:jaw:

rear strut decompression & front strut compression also affects stopping distance

also aftermarket suspension will weight less than OEM. This is a positive = makes car lighter.

Save up and get coilovers, you can then adjust the height to get it where you want it.

Lowered with Eibach Pro-Kit and Bilstein Sports. Only lowers an inch. I also upgraded the tires to Dunlop Direzzas the year before.
