What happens when your map sensor goes bad?
Does the car shut off and run? Is there a way to test it? Thanks in advance.

Based on past experience, it should turn on the CEL, store a DTC, and enter limp mode.

If the map sensor is bad would the car still turn on, or would it just crank?

How do you know the MAP sensor is bad?

my map sensor (A/F ratio) went bad awhile ago, and it just gave you a engine light, no limp mode. i could rev it to redline.

It is still a limp mode, though it isnt RPM limited. Usually the ECU can still maintain a decent A/F by matching rpm and TPS signals when the MAP sensor goes out, unless you are modded a fair bit.

for me just a CAI, kpro with a stock cal. The reason I ask is when we swap my brothers car same problem wouldn't turn on just crank. We switch the map sensor out and turned on.

The MAP sensor reads manifold pressure, not the A/F ratio. That's measured by the primary O2 sensor. What DTC did you have when you think your sensor went out?

Somewhere around 10.5-11psi, I believe.

ok so the car wont start. If I let the car sit it will turn on but shut back off. No engine codes. So far ive check all my vac lines, plugs and all sensors on my t/b? Any idea what it could be?
