What would the stock clutch handle as far as power? Just a question that popped into my head while driving yesterday, i plan on upgrading when i do my swap (whenever that is:mrolleyes:) but just for shits i was wondering.

once i went turbo, mine lasted 8 months before it disintegrated lol. i was making 300hp+ though for almost half that time...

i have over 40k miles on my stock clutch its i had a blower and them turbo and im doing rode race now and still holding no problems at all stock clutch is good

Same here.. A launch from a red light with drag radials broke the center hub and 2 springs in mine, but it was still holding. Im gonna say if you dont drag race it will last a while. Mine lasted from 41k to 95k, and that WAS strip passes lol.

i believe its 280 pound feet of torque, not at the wheels, at the flywheel.
Thats when it will start to slip.

Yeah, I mean im sure it could go with less and stuff, But basically if you have 280lb ft of torque at your flywheel it will start to slip when you give it gas.

I wouldn't chance it with a stock clutch. Mine came apart at with just a 75 shot of N2O. I believe my car had about 80k on it at that time though. But still, no reason to chance it regardless of mileage. I upgraded to an Exedy stage 2 and never looked back.

I ran my jrsc-r and greddy kit with my stocker for a good 8k and never had any problems.
