Anyone have good things or bad things to say about wheel spacers (5mm or 10 mm) actually installed on their car past or present?

15mm Project Kics spacers on my Z with no issues. I chose Kics because the extended studs are attatched to the actual spacer piece.

I'm sure it'd work on an EP with extended studs, but I'm certainly not advocating your trying it.

I'm already just about flush with my non-rolled rears.. a -15 would make them body flush (and sexy haha)

I was thinking about the 5 or 10 mm ones from H&R myself. I believe they come with extended studs attached to the spacer too.
I was worried about the back fender rubbing on the rear tire though like my old 94 civic used to. Looks like that might happen with 10 mm + spacers

Not to sound noobish or anything but I truly don't know. What are these spacers actually for, what do they do?

They space the wheel farther from the hub.

Oh ok then, but what is the real bennifit of doing something like this.

Aesthetic. I'm running 10" wheels (350Z) at each corner but wanted the rears to appear staggered.

Some wheels are made in offsets that don't work properly for the car, so people use spacers to adapt accordingly.

Ok so no real performance gain just some nice appearences

Some wheels are made in offsets that don't work properly for the car, so people use spacers to adapt accordingly.

IE integra type-r wheels have a +55 offset. unless you swap over the suspension, the wheels will be tucked. a 10mm or 15mm spacer makes it closer to the stock EP offset of +45.

also I have a little problem with the wheel hitting the lower control arm in the back when I carry passengers and hit corners. I think it's because of the offset on my rotas. Anyway I hope that by giving it another 5-10 mm it will help this out.

Hey should I roll my fenders in the back or front if I go 10 mm?

i have 25mm bolt-ons with the studs pressed in the wheel spacers. got'em off ebay for $155 and they work great. got them for my s2k wheels. wheels sit flush now, its NICE! :mcool:

make sure to get decent spacers with hubcentric design

some spacers destroy the balance and end up with broken bearing

I also use 25mm spacers with my ITR wheels, and so far they have been great...no vibrations or anything...I am using the hubcentric H&R ones

I was also wondering, would moving to 15mm spacers be any better? I know ppl say the smaller the better, but will that 1cm make or break my car?

i was waiting for some one to say something about this being hard on the bearings. but i would just keep an eye on them.

ive been running a 1/4" spacer on all for corners of my EK on blades and have had no problem with them at all. im kinda thinking of going a little more so they sit flush with the fenders. that looks so hot! extended studs will be in order than. always remeber "safety first!"

All you would need to do is just put the spacers on the hub and bolt on and it's ready to go with a wheel? No need to take apart your hub and put extended studs?

I have 16" HFP Fit wheels with 20-50-16 Nitto neo gens. They dont sit flush with the car would I bennfit from 5-10mm Spacers? I really dont know anything about spacers. Or Would I be fine without them? Its not rubbing as of now. Here is a pic not the best if you need a better one to see what I am talking about I can post it up. Thanks guys

I couldn't get enough turns on the lug nuts with 5mm spacers so right now I'm only using 3mm (and only in the rears).

This will vary depending on the wheel but be sure to check it before blindly tossing on some 5mm spacers cause others have.

If you go more than 5mm you will either need the spacers with the studs built in or you will need to replace the wheel studs so that you have enough threads for lug nut engagement.

I run the 5mm only when autocrossing.

What kind of spacers do you have?

if I get wheel spacers, such as the eibach 15mm spacer, which comes with extended studs, will i need to get open ended lug nuts?
Also, if I were to run 15mm spacers that have their own studs, will my oem wheel fit? or will the spacer be thick enough to go past the end of the lug.
