Hi this speed shop that I know pretty well is oferring to install a k20A onto my ep3 for $6000 total. Is this a good deal?

This is a complete swap with Engine, Tranny, Ecu, etc.

What do you guys think? Is there anything I need to know or look into?

There is no such thing as a good deal for a jdm k20a.

I'd recommend finding a k20a2 for half of that price. It's a much better value and is considered a direct substitute for the jdm swap, in my opinion.

You can have a k20a2/6spd/ecu installed for about 4k and its only got like 7less hp? You can buy all your bolt ons for the last 2k:doh:

yeah don't bother with the jdm k20a. it's not worth the extra 2k.

K20A2 will get the power of K20A only if you change cams/RH/K-Pro etc...(That another $$$$$ there)
Remember, with the a2 you dont have the LSD:mbiggrin:
Stock for stock (with only k-pro) there will be around 15-20 WHP between the two.
Just go with K24A1 or K24A2 If you dont want to spend so much.
I paid $5750.00 with my K20A swap (without K-Pro). Its all stock except KPro
and have 200whp/154.3 ft/lbs

Yeah, the K20a is a total waste of money. Get the K20a2 / K24a2 and save the rest of the cash for later. Turbo anyone?
