You heard me right. F20C. My friend recently wrecked his S2000 (going 100 around a corner, who would have thought?). Anyways, he's parting it out and he's trying to tell me he can swap it into my car? I hardly believe that. The engine is placed sideways in the s2000, what makes him think you can swap it in a ep3? Too much Forza 2 for him possibly. That's why im asking the pro's on here! Lay it on me. Possible? Or Nay?

i know inline pro was able to match a k-series tranny to a f20c longblock but it'd take some modifying to make it fit and to wire it up.

Yeah forget that. He is about to sell it to my friend who has a Laser. I laughed histarically.

You'll need a tranny adapter. See the lotus guys with f20c's. They mated it with the k20 tranny with an adapter.

Custom mounts would be needed, you could use the s2k ecu and harness.
If we can use the S2k cluster they can use ours
we both have EPS
mate it to the k20 tranny
tada.
It would just be a matter of using everything from the f20 other than the k series transmission.
this would include things that werent mounted to the motor so you'd wanna make custom mounts for all that stuff too.
you could do it though.

Meh, he's asking $5,000 for it. It has about 33k miles on it.

I think im better off buying a k20 compaired to buying a f20 and spending countless amount of hours and money on it. But it would be nice...:mfrown:

Anyways, the amount of torque it comes with is not impressive. I have raced him before with my stock ep3 and managed to keep up with him more than I assumed. Damn rear wheel car's -.-

get a k20. Save the cash for cams or something.

i saw a f20c head swap on a k20a2 with a modified s2000 crank and aftermarket s2k rods/pistons.
it made near 250 at the wheels.

spoon built a k20 with s2000 internals and shoved it in the fg

yeah it was basically exactly like that but with the f20 head also, donno how hard that is though, i imagine its alot of work and parts.

Your friend is trying to dick you. The amount of fab work needed would make that swap cost prohibitive (ridiculously expensive). Everything would have to be custom fabricated. Double that shit if you want to convert the car to RWD. And if you're not going RWD then what's the point.

If you took that $5k and boosted another k-series motor you'd be sitting way above the 240hp of the f20c. If you spent it on his f20c the only thing you'd have is the beginning of a money pit that is going to take a long time to complete.

This is of course assuming that you're not filthy rich or a fabrication wizard with access to a shop. If that's the case then have at.

the only reason i could think of doing it is just for the sake of being original/ the ingenuity of it.
If you desperately just wanna say, look at me look at me, go for it.

F20C's in AE86's is still expensive even though there are dedicated kits out there, so yes, putting that F20C would be expensive and make it barely worth it for the amount of power it would output (vs. a cheaper K-series)

i dont get what your saying, are you talking about the ep or the ae86. f20c in a ae86 is deff worth it.
