okay,

i was just wondering what the difference is between the two sections were...
I never really thought about it, but i never really venture into the how-to section.

a minute ago i answered a "wanted DIY" in the DIY section with a link to a thread in the How-to section.

I guess, what i am asking is: Is the how-to neccesary?:mangel:

idk. anywho, mods feel free to move and or delete this thread when ever it has recieved its capacity of answers....

good day.

From what I've noticed, one seems to actually have helpful step by step directions, while the other is all requests that nobody touches lol

no thoughts from the wise mods and such?

 DIY is step by step instructions on how to remove/install parts

the How-to questions are to ask question on the steps in the DIY...

I think that is the simpliest way I can explain it.:mangel::mbiggrin:

that sure makes the how-to sound mighty important.

so pretty much the how-to is actually a section for people to learn "how to" hyperlink other pages from the DIY section.

The DIY section isn't really for DIY requests. The mods just leave it there because people actually post a DIY within that DIY request.

The how-to section is where the requests should be.

DIY is strictly manuals while How-to's are where you can talk about, request, and troubleshoot a problem. DIY section is not for conversating.

okay.... seems like a good idea...in theory.

what if we had the DIY a sub-section of "how-to"? that would be pretty spiffy. plus that way diy and howto wouldn't be seperated by 10 other sections.
