i'm looking into getting some koni yellows. my concern is i drive in
the city a good amount and i dont want them to be too stiff
i heard from someone that on the softest setting they still hit hard

false, i have on my ride now and they are great. they can be harsh if you go full firm, though. full soft is absolutely fine. recommended mod.

Yeah they're recommended
are they necessary should be your concern
On full soft your car is allowed to float more with more body roll and stuff but you still ride through potholes and over chared pavement like a steam roller.
I had them on a 93 accord with an eibach prokit drop.
Those things seemed to be constructed to handle some serious power and they like smooth pavement.
So like I was saying rebound is adjustable but compression which allows the wheel move over bumps instead of through them is not.
Figure your costs and if you really need the most durable most expensive thing you can get go ahead.
I drove mine on the street and I never ever thought I was using those things at 50-100% of their dynamic limits.
