I traded the EP in for this car a couple of weeks ago. Sorry for the crappy pictures, several time constraints made me take these pictures in a big rush.

Nice i really like the Mazdaspeed miata. My dad has a 95 M-edition wit some mods. Miatas are very underrated cars. The mazdaspeed will change minds though.:thumbu: Look at that monster intercooler...haha any mods planned?

Miatas are great cars but the mazda speed version is just amazing. Need a dyno and modlist stat.

Too small for me, but again it is the Mazdaspeed.

It's completely stock, and I'm planning to keep it that way for a while (at least that's what I told myself, we'll see). For the moment I'm just going to do little creature comforts like stereo upgrade, new floormats, maybe window tint, etc...

Yeah, the intercooler is real wimpy. It's not impossible to get heatsoak with the stock setup when pushing the car, so that'll be the first upgrade when I start autocrossing it.

Here's the best stock dyno I could find. The red is completely stock, and the blue is with a high flow muffler (this was from before there was any aftermarket for the car).

If it wasn't because I lived up here in the NE where the weather is as predictable as gasoline prices... I would trade in the ep for a miata speed in a heartbeat.

I thought turbo magazine did an article where they said the miataspeed was a waste of time to mod because it didn't respond well? something about the ecu.

Good looking car, the intercooler is about pathetic though. They could have at the least put one in like a SRT4. I bet it's a blast to drive though. Only downfall for me on those cars is the price. Mazda REALLY likes them. lol

Nice pick up bro, it appears to be in really good condition.

That's possibly, but I would imagine that a larger intercooler wouldn't hinder performance.

Thanks for the comments, everybody.

I can get 200 whp with boltons (it has 150 whp stock). You need a piggyback card for the ECU, kind of like the JRSC powercard, but it works pretty good.

If I wanted to go all out with modding a car, than getting an 01+ regular miata and adding a turbo to that would be the better choice. They had an engine with VVT that revved to 7k, and I have the non-VVT engine from the 1999 & 2000 years that only revs to 6.5k, with a turbo slapped on it by Mazda.

But I just can't justify spending thousands and thousands of dollars, no matter the path. I'd rather get 15x8 wheels with good tires for the track.

I'm the opposite. I'm already looking at a BEGI turbo kit in a few months. 250whp or bust!

If you know anyone selling the stock MSM springs/struts, rims, and muffler let me know. The more I read, the more I'm terrified to upset the stock balance of mine with aftermarket parts but I think I'm going to indulge when it comes to power.

Nice car man. Does it come in mens sizes?

LOL! I KEED! I KEED!

Almost bought a Miata in 2001. I worked for enterprise rent-a-car and they were selling a traded in miata with only 12k miles, employee deal $12k. It was kinda small for me though. And I'm not a big guy being 5'9 170lbs. I just have monkey arms.

If I see anything I'll keep you in mind, but I don't imagine that there's a whole lot of those parts on the market. Personally, I'm keeping it all to myself.

I'm surprised the girly comment took so long to get here. At least yours was genuinely funny, I got a good laugh out of it.

i only know that comment because i've been a victim of it when i was thinking about purchasing one myself. i just wasn't strong enough to purchase the car after the ridiculing. :mcry:
