So how loud IS a fart?

Do you have noise (decibels levels) restrictions in your area? It would have to a court approved device to present evidence in court and be calibrated by an approved facility.

This is a Type 2 (http://www.noisemeters.com/help/faq/type-class.asp) Sound Level Meter and so is the Extech 407736. A Type 1 is highly expensive and I have not use for it. This is leaps and bounds better than what you can buy at Radio Shack, and that toy that Scosche sells.

I am using this to measure sound levels in the car at idle, various speeds and rpm levels. This will be my base measurment.

Then, I have planned to sound deaden the vehicle and wanted to see a measured benefit of the interior sound levels.

Plus this is great for testing sound levels of everything. Intakes, exhausts. Interior Drone from said exhausts.

Testing new Hella Horn db Levels, and all sorts of fun things.

These units sell for $250 on average, used on ebay for $150+.

I got a crazy deal for only $87 for both units.

^ Highly interested in how that comes out. I've thought about this as well and the only idea i've come up with is putting in dynamats all over the interior of the doors panels and rear panels.

Well I have 2 - Dynamat Extreme kits (http://www.amazon.com/Dynamat-10435-Xtreme-Door-Sheets/dp/B00020CAUG/ref=pd_bbs_2?ie=UTF8&s=automotive&qid=1217525122&sr=8-2) for the doors. I also have 2 rolls of RAAMmat BXT™ (http://www.raamaudio.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi?p=pr), plus some 6 yards of ensolite. I will be doing the whole vehicle.

I have planned this project for a while now, and really wanted to have documented results.
