Well guys ebay blows. Well i guess not ebay. but some people who use ebay. I recently bought so called "authentic" ep3 CTR wheels from ebay. ended up paying 1,150 for em. I do my research on ebay and this guy only had 1 negative comment out of 205 positives. So I felt confortable in buying from him. Well when I received em what did I notice?? TWO OF THE WHEELS WERE PAINTED. yep two of the wheels were painted and looked so much newer compared to the other two. WHY would someone on ebay do this and make it that obvious?? Why not paint all of em? Well anyways I went to Autozone and purchased Turtle Wax polish compound. I washed, used wheel cleaner, Mcquires NXT wax, and the Turtle Wax polish on all 4 of the rims, but mostly working on the 2 rims that werent painted. And this is the results. Obviously you can tell which are the painted ones because of the lug nut holes are insanely clean on the inside and the inside of the wheel is real clean too. But pics 1 and 3 are of the painted wheels, and 2 and 4 are of the wheels i busted almost 2 hours on to get as perfect as i could. But I think all in all I was able to restore the rims to look almost identical Minus the extra clean parts of the painted wheels. On a side note I also contacted the Ebay seller and he refunded me 240 dollars for this.

when you bought the new tires did they balance out?? i agree with frm_808, have a shop dismount the tires and put the rims on a balancer.. just to check if the rims are still ok...

Can you just add weights if they were knocked off? I've been wondering since my friend ran my car into a ditch and alot of the weights are off now. Can any typical tire shop do this, such as discount?

Also if it wasn't for 2 being dirty in certain spots I could never tell, atleast you got a good deal after the refund.

yea its really hard cleaning in between those spokes because there so thin. I had to put compound polish on my pinky finger and do it that way to get in between those areas. looks like i missed a spot.

u sure those are real?

they say honda on the back of the rim in the spokes and say eneki. so i assume so. i made sure to look caus that was a question that also arised when we were mounting these. I made sure to check all 4 and all of em had honda and eneki on em, i wouldnt know what else to look for to make sure they are real except that

They look good on your car. I wonder why he didn't just disclose that they were repainted in the first place. nice pick up either way.:mcool:

Maybe he just used the same two on the front of the car, and since the front brakes work more they got more of a wear look to them because of the brake dust.

Perhaps at a later time you could get them powder coated a stock color to make them perfect. At least the seller compinsated you a bit.

use the money he returned you and get all 4 of them powdercoated. Simple, fast, and cheap.

The frist and second pic look like they have a lot of wheel weights on them. Might want to look into that could have been damaged pretty good then repainted.

if a wheel with a tire mounted needs more than 3 oz of weight that ish is bent 90% of the time... and it's actually really common to have a bent wheel.. i work at a tire shop and i see it all the time.. even n Mercedes and BMW wheels...
