classiccelica

Is it now? Because every time I look it keeps saying pending legality. My injen is the same damn way, just waiting for that stinkin CARB number to show up.

why are you worried about legality? Do they hook you up to the sniffer when you get your inspections?

classiccelica
08-05-2008, 09:25 AM
See that is what I though. Guess I'm back to square one.

classiccelica
08-05-2008, 09:26 AM
Yes you the the sniffer. I haven't had to do a smog on my car yet but yeah that is what they do over here.

you know i still don't understand how the state can just outlaw all the mods and stuff. that seems like that would make the aftermarket industry get lobbiest and attack the hell out of the state of california. i mean i would NEVER live there just bc of all that bs. but what really gets me is if you have a hot rod you can run around and no one bothers you!

classiccelica

Yeah or incredibly loud motorcycles. To me the bikes are more annoying due to the noise level they produce unmuffled. Well I guess I could always go jrsc-r as long as I can get like 220whp or so I think I can be happy. Tsx motor too damn expensive otherwise hell yes.

get the street kit (it comes with the carb sticker) then upgrade to the race kit

classiccelica

weltall you know my mods do you think I could hit that power number?

Mine passed with a sniffer in Atlanta. Didnt need it, but I know the guy and I had him hook it up just to see. If your tuned properly it will pass no problem with a cat.

Aftermarket Car parts manufacturers don't have the coin to effect legislation.

Well maybe I will just get an a2 motor then later on boost it. I just don't like being limited to certain power levels. Turbo at least gives you the option to increase boost on the fly.

Supposedly newer SI motors are fine to swap, and so are RSX motors.

Go motor swap and get it to pass the BAR

LOL this is such a funny icon :gheyf:

the basic greddy kit is carb legal.

back when i had mine. it says it is. go online to there site and it says it has not been carb legal since may of 2003. either way tucson arizona dont do inspections like that. they could care less as long as your cel is off and your ecu shows up clean

and thats how people blow there shit. just get the tsx motor honestly. if your buying a charger new the k24a2 wont be much different in price. then in a year or so put a blower on. keep the cat if you want. youll have at least 260 whp for sure and pass emissions

i beg to differ as long as your tuned for the high boost option you can run a lower boost level on the same tune

ie tuned for 20 but only running 10 on the street (at the flip of a switch you can enable your boost controller)

and BlownSI05,,,, i didnt mean to come off like a dick i was doing 8 things at once and only had enough time to post one word

classiccelica
08-05-2008, 04:16 PM
weltall who are you referencing? Me or someone else, just wondering. Yeah I also think that you can tune for high boost but use the low boost. Is this for turbo though?

classiccelica
08-05-2008, 04:19 PM
But I really like the high revving exhileration of the a2, z1, and z3 motor

weltall
08-05-2008, 05:28 PM
yeah turbo

and it was directed towards illusion from him saying that switching to high boost allthe time is how people blow it up

its the people who are like ooohhhhh look weltall is pushing 20psi ill do the same

they dont get tuned and they also dont know i have supporting fuel and internal mods to handle the high whp

classiccelica
08-05-2008, 07:32 PM
Yeah exactly right. Do you know how high the a3 can safely rev to?

weltall
08-05-2008, 07:33 PM
7.7k

classiccelica
08-05-2008, 07:34 PM
ok then. But i also need to be making power up that high as well. I feel like my 7500 takes a while to get there in 2nd gear. I am going to try that cam angle stuff tomorrow.

i was also saying people get tuned for 10 or 12 or whatever then once there tuned they go up like 3-7 psi higher than there tune. ive seen it many times on here. recently one guy did it and blew his motor the day he got tuned.
