Just wondering if cell code (OBD 2)

P1166 Primary HO2S (No. 1) Heater System Electrical
P1167 Primary HO2S (No. 1) Heater System
P1298 Electrical Load Detector Circuit High Input

Would it be my problem for my check engine light to be on, if yes, what can i do to fix it?

I think i might have to check all my 02 sensor (3 in total), which if i have to replace it will cost me 255$ for each depending if one needs to be replaced

The EP has only 2 oxygen sensors - the primary (aka the A/F sensor), and the secondary. The primary O2 sensor is critical for maintaining the A/F ratio, and if the ECU can't read the A/F mixture properly it will throw one or more DTCs and possibly enter limp mode. The secondary is only used to check that the catalytic converter is working, and any errors from the secondary will not affect performance or fuel consumption at all.

P1166/1167 indicate that there is a problem with the primary O2 sensor heater circuit. Check the fuse(s) and wires, and as a last resort replace the sensor. (If you go to Majestic Honda or get a replacement from sparkplugs.com you won't spend more than ~$210 shipped. Others have bought non-OEM sensors for even cheaper.)

The P1298 is an error with the ELD in the fuse box. Several conditions can cause this DTC, and I'm not familiar with the troubleshooting for it.

Thanks for the info, i'll check the fuses and the wires tonight.

Second question: Is it critical to drive my car with those cel codes on.

I have a 2 hours 1/2 trip this weekend, and i was wondering if i can drive my car there and come back without any problems?

Just worried that something worst happens...

like previously said, the simple thing to check first is the fuses. I had a P1166 a few years back and it was a 40amp box fuse under the hood.

thanks DJ Addicted

Still waiting to hear if i can go to my road trip if those cells code are still on if it's not the fuses or wires

The primary O2 sensor issue could make you run rich, so your fuel economy may suffer. I don't think a few hours over the weekend will kill it, but I'm not an expert, so unfortunately I can't give a solid answer.

You'll be fine as far as the trip goes so no worries there. I had a bad primary 02 for a good 4 months before i fixed it. I drove the car everyday too and never had any problems besides a little worse fule milage :mwink:

I've been driving for 2 weeks now with that problem and didn't had any problems, but I always worry to damage something else... when I have car problem

Appointment tomorrow, so i'll be fine... it might be under warranty if it's the catalyc.

Thanks guys for all your input!!!!! :mwink:
