Sunroof removal - reinstallation

Has anyone removed the sunroof on the EP3? Just wondering how easy/hard it was for you.

I am very mechanically inclined but its always best to ask first.

I need to take it off and clean the area properly as the previous owner parked under a pine tree so there are needles and such stuck inside the roof - good spots for rust to form.

I was thinking of deleting the halfway close function at the same time.

very simple actually.. It is a total of 6 screws. You will see two on each side which hold the plastic pieces in. Then there is a single screw under that on each side and then the glass just lifts right out.

Thanks... I assume that applies to a 2002 model as well.

What about removing the tracks, would that be just as easy?

dont know about the tracks. I didnt need to remove them

I had the whole unit out one time. It was pain in the ass.

From what I can remember:
- Remove all pillar covers.
- Remove visors, lights, etc.
- Remove the lining.

I couldn't remove the B-pillar cover, so I slide the lining out the back hatch to access the sunroof.
