im not sure what size wheels to get. i have a set of 15 inch axis og wheels on there now but i want to get something a lil bigger. im not sure if i should go to 16 or 17. im thinkin of 16s with a somewhat big tire. what are your opinion. i have a white 02 ep3.

I say go with the 16's. They are more practically and you can get the extra cushion with the bigger sidewall.

I'm currently debating on 16 or 17 as well. I have 17's and I'm most likely going to downsize to 16's. Mostly because of the increased sidewall. TW as well. I made a poll in this section about wheels if you're bored check it out.

im getting 16s because i think they looks best and 225/50/16 tires are cheap and readily available

225's? I wouldn't run a tire that wide on anything smaller than 8" wide wheel. Anything smaller and your tire is going to start bulging

you can run a 225 on 7 inch wide wheel just fine. ive seen it done.

I've seen 315's run on a 9" wheel. That doesn't mean it's right or safe. You should stay within manufacturers specs for wheel width. 225's minimum width rating is 7.5".

im not trying to be argumentative because i see that your post have nothing but my best interest in mind and i appreciate it, however, i have done much research into the subject and have found that it is safe to run a 225/50/16 tire on a 7 inch wheel.

Different manufacturers give different specs. I wouldn't run a tire that wide on a 7" wide wheel. Not only is it wider, it's taller. More rotational mass. No thanks. Nice try with the sarcasm as well. My last ride had 325's on the rear so I guess I'm clueless as to what fits. lol

225/50/15 is actually shorter than the stock 195/60/15

would a 16 inch wheel with a 205/50/16 tire be alright if i was still going to lower my car more. right now i have springs and shocks. but i want to eventually go lower. so would a 16 or 17 inch wheel be better?

thats what im not sure about. right now i have 15s but there to small. im leaning towards 16s with a 205/50. so you think thats still to small even if im going to lower my car more than springs?
