So i'm lookin at getting a set of Enkei's lightweight RPF1s, i was wonderin what would be the best tire size for the 16x7 +43 wheels on our EP? i've heard 225/50, but 205/50 was suggested on tirerack.com. My EP will have the 1.8" F and 1.5" R drop from progress springs and tokico d-specs. What tire size would keep the speedometer as close to stock as possible plus not rub with a 0 to -1 degree camber? Info if you have a similar setup would also help! :thumbu: thanks guys!

215 or 225 should do it. For dd 205 should be fine.

If 205 is good for DD, what advantages does 215 or 225 have?

225 gives you wider stance.
i had 225/45/16 Yokohama ES100's on the same exact size as yours 16x7 +43 offset.
no rubbing, but flushed to the fender with 2.25" drop.

awesome choice of rims btw! love those! i would go with 225/50/R16 due to the fact that this size will have the closest overall diameter size as stock. So your speedo will be more accurate, compared to the other sizes. (According to 1010tire.com!)

Not sure what year EP3 you have, but if it's an 02-03 than 225-45 would be perfect.

A little wider (obviously) than 205 or 215 means more rubber on the ground with no ill effects.

If I'm not mistaken 04-05 EPs had different stock tires so the 225-45 might be a little off on the speedo in those cars...

haha, yea, i really like them for their lightweight characteristics and they're just plain sexy on our cars!!

i've heard some good things about the 615s, how good is the tread life??

it's an '02, so 225/45 it is! :)

would the SBC be a pain to keep clean, since it's somewhat like chrome? (on the enkei site they said it requiered less maintenance than chrome.)
Cuz here in Utah the wheather just sucks sometimes. haha

according to the Enkei site, SBC only comes in 17" and 18"... you would need to move up a size.

So i was looking up tire options i would have with the 225/45/16 and i came up with very few options. i went to 225/50/16 and there were TONS more options including the falken azenis 615.. whats the difference (including a higher sidewall) and how else will the 50 compare to the 45??

225/45 is too thin for 16's,225/50 looks better on smaller wheels like 16's and better tire choice imo

agreed. 225/50/16 is the best option.

from my experience. 225/50/16 looks too fat and doesn't make the car look that good. If you're drop pretty low i would recommend 215/45/16 as im running them right now and i m slammed. i have azenis and they are great for the twistee's but tread life is not that good. But F'k it if you want grip you gotta give up some tread life. but yah if you're not dropped that low don't go 215/45/16 because it'll give u a big gap due to the lower sidewall. not many tire makers make 215/45/16 ones i can think off the top of my head are azenis, hankook rs2,

fat tires imo look better on bigger honda's like the dc5 and ep3...ill leave thinner tires for crx's and eg's. being dropped on thin tires might help the gap close but being lower then 1.5 isnt a good idea for our cars.

the perfect size imo is 215/50 but thats rare so 205/55 is another good size that looks very much like 215/50 with plenty of tire choices.
