so i just ordered my set of wheels 16x7 and am looking for some tires. i need some tires that will do fairly well at the track (Buttonwillow) and have checkin online tirerack and discounttire. ive found a few tires i might be able to get, here they are

205/45/16

Yokohama AVS ES100
Yokohama Parada
Dunlop SP Sport FM901

205/50/16

Kumho 712
Falken GR Beta FK-451

those are all the tires instock that i can find within a reasonable price range. using the 7thgencivic tire calculator my speed with the 205/45/16's will be abour 4% too fast, but with the 205/50/16 will be just about perfect. so i need some advice on which tires to get.

ive used the Kumhos on my old GSR 205/50/15 and they were a pretty decent tire for the money.

help me pick guys!

TIA

This (http://www.vulcantire.com/azenis_t.htm) site has Falken Azenis in a 205/55/16 for $78/each.

Is there any real difference in the V and Z rating? (I understad the speed ratings, but will the average joe feel the difference?)

205/55/15 would be the closest size to stock.

Try this link to check tire sizer against stock.

hope it helps.

I am gonna get either some 17x7 or some 16x7 inch rims soon. Is the offset desired the same as in the previous civics(43mm-45mm for a 7 inch width)? And tires......215 or 205?

not much difference. Don't go buying tires just because of a speed rating.

Unless you plan on being able to go over 149 mph is your si, then the V-rated should be fine. I think that Z-rated is good for 179 mph and up.......or something like that.

for the 16's I'd go for the 215/45's. they're just as close to stock in size as the 205/55's (just a bit smaller instead of bigger) plus you get the advantages of wider, lower profile, less inertia, and they even weigh less too!

(only down side is price)
